럼피스킨병, 전국으로 빠르게 확산
정부, 400만 마리 분량의 백신 도입 예정
부담은 결국 소비자에게, 한우 가격 1주 새 13.1% 상승
럼피스킨병이 전국으로 확산되면서 한우 고기의 도매가격이 급등했다. 이로 인해 농가는 방역에, 소비자는 높아진 가격에 불안을 느끼는 상황이 되었다.

10월 25일 오전 8시를 기준으로 국내에서 발생한 소 럼피스킨병은 모두 29건이며, 7건의 의심 사례 검사가 진행 중이다. 20일 처음 발병이 보고된 이후로 럼피스킨병은 충청, 경기 지역은 물론 강원 지역에서까지 전국적으로 발생하고 있다.
권재한 농림축산식품부 농업혁신정책실장은 “10월 31일까지 총 4백만 마리 분량의 백신을 국내로 긴급 도입하기로 하였습니다.”라고 밝혔다. 정부는 11월 초순까지 전국 모든 소 농장의 백신 접종을 완료할 계획이며, 럼피스킨병 발생 지역의 소 이동을 제한하기로 했다.
한편, 한우 가격 급등으로 당분간 소비자 부담 가중될 것으로 보인다. 축산물품질평가원에 따르면 한우 고기 도매가격은 ㎏당 2만53원으로, 럼피스킨병 발생 이전인 1주 전보다 13.1% 올랐다. 소비자 가격도 영향을 받아, ㎏당 1등급 등심은 9만2760원까지 올랐다.
럼피스킨병 백신의 항체형성 약 3주 정도임을 감안하면 11월 말 정도가 되어야 럼피스킨병 발생 추세가 안정화될 것으로 예상된다.

The wholesale price of Korean beef has skyrocketed since the outbreak of lumpy skin disease spread across the country. This led to a situation where farmers struggled to control the disease and consumers felt anxious about the high prices.
As of 8 a.m. on Oct. 25, there are a total of 29 cases of bovine lumpy skin disease in Korea, with seven suspected cases under testing. Since the first outbreak was reported on the 20th the disease has been reported in Chungcheong and Gyeonggi provinces, as well as Gangwon Province.
“We have decided to urgently introduce a total of 4 million doses of vaccine into the country by October 31,” said Kwon Jae-han, head of the Agricultural Innovation Policy Office at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The government plans to complete the vaccination of all cattle farms in the country by early November and has decided to restrict the movement of cattle from the outbreak areas.
Meanwhile, the surge in the price of beef is likely to weigh on consumers for the time being. According to the Korea Livestock Quality Assurance Agency, the wholesale price of Korean beef stood at KRW 20,053 per kilogram, up 13.1% from a week ago, before the outbreak. Consumer prices were also affected, with the price of first-grade sirloin rising to 92,760 won per kilogram.
Given that it takes about three weeks for antibodies to develop against the disease, it is expected that the trend of the disease will stabilize by the end of November.
